Teragi Basin, located at 350 m above sea level, is formed of strata that were deposited over the Teragi Caldera 3 million years ago. The upper part of the lava includes many fossilized insects.Hyogo Prefectural Tajima Pasture, its ski slopes and beatiful rice terraces are around Mt. Atago in the center of the basin.
