Mt. Kannabe is located in Hidaka, Toyooka City.Having erupted 20,000 years ago, Mt. Kannabe is the newest volcano in the Kansai Region. Mt. Kannabe’s volcanic activity made basaltic lava flow along the Inamba River to the Maruyama River, as far as 18 km away. The lava formed a cinder cone around the volcanic crater. The crater remained, with a diameter of 118 m and depth of 40 m. Along the Inamba River, visitors can observe geological features created by lava flows, such as falls, valleys and other beautiful scenery.
