This is a port in the mouth of the Gamo River. Long ago, it was a port of call for Kitamaebune (commercial ships). Now it is a base for fishing boats (for squid, etc.) and for sightseeing boats touring around the marine park of Uradome Coast (nationally designated natural monument and a place of scenic beauty).
